Pooch Plunge Brings One Last Splash of Summer to Heritage Landing

Heritage Landing residents and their four-legged family members closed out pool season with plenty of splashing, treats and tail wags at our annual Pooch Plunge on September 12.

The event gave resident pups a chance to take over the pool for an afternoon of swimming, playing and enjoying one last taste of summer. From enthusiastic first-time swimmers to seasoned pool pros, there was no shortage of happy dogs and soaked fur.

This year’s event also brought together several community partners to make the afternoon extra special. The Fort Benning Veterinary Center joined us to answer questions about available services and assist residents with pet registration, while the Family Advocacy Program provided special treats for our four-legged guests.

Resident home-based business Mission Brew Coffee also joined the fun with its new coffee trailer, serving pup cups for the dogs and refreshments for their humans. Supporting our resident HBBs is an important part of building community at Heritage Landing, and we loved having Mission Brew Coffee be part of the day.

Pooch Plunge is always one of our favorite ways to wrap up the summer season, and this year was no exception. Thank you to our residents, community partners and staff who helped make the afternoon such a fun one.

We loved seeing so many happy pups enjoying their community, and judging by the photos, they had a pretty great time too!
