Celebrating the Launch of Heritage Landing at Fort Benning

Last month marked a major milestone for our community as we officially celebrated the launch of Heritage Landing at Fort Benning with a special ribbon cutting ceremony during Heritage Week.

Residents, installation leadership, partners, and team members gathered to commemorate the transition to the new community name and celebrate the legacy of the military families who have called this Fort Benning housing community home for generations.

The celebration began with residents receiving Heritage Landing swag bags as they arrived for the event. Guests were welcomed by a wonderful performance from the Faith Middle School band, helping set the tone for a meaningful and exciting morning.

During the ceremony, Community Director Kimberly Collins shared remarks about the inspiration behind the name Heritage Landing and the importance of creating a lasting identity that reflects the history, service, and sense of community found throughout the neighborhoods of Fort Benning housing. Colonel Evans also addressed attendees, emphasizing the strong partnership between the installation and the military families who live within the community.

A special moment during the ceremony was the viewing of the official Heritage Landing launch video, which highlighted the everyday moments that make military housing at Fort Benning so meaningful — from homecomings and milestones to friendships and childhood memories built throughout the neighborhood.

The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by General Tuley, officially marking the beginning of this exciting new chapter for Heritage Landing.

Guests also had the opportunity to connect with several talented Home-Based Businesses (HBBs) from within the community. The participation of these resident-owned businesses showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to make Heritage Landing such a special place to live.

While the community now carries a new name, the mission remains the same: serving the military families of Fort Benning with a strong sense of community, stability, and support.

Heritage Landing represents more than just Fort Benning housing — it reflects the legacy of the families who have lived here, the memories created throughout the neighborhoods, and the future of the community for generations to come.
